Laurel Hills Special Housing Area
We have received an Expression of Interest to develop a Special Housing Area (‘proposed Laurel Hills Special Housing Area’) on Lot 1 DP 431492 and Lot 2 DP 325561. The two sites are proposed to be accessed off Stalker Road, in Shotover Country, Queenstown.
The land is within the Indicative Master Plan for the Ladies Mile contained in the Council’s Lead Policy for Special Housing Areas, and within the Detailed Business Case for infrastructure prepared under the Governments Housing Infrastructure Fund.
The proposal is for approximately 156 houses, a 4000m2+ neighbourhood reserve and associated earthworks, access, landscaping and infrastructure. Five different house types are proposed:
- Townhouses (52) – 180 – 30m2 lots.
- ‘Retain’ houses (46) – 230 – 315m2 lots
- Urban houses (38) – 312 – 405m2 lots
- Villa (13)– variable lot sizes around 450m2
- Compact (6) – on 110 -120m2 sections
- the existing house (1)
The proposal includes a 10% contribution of the developed land area to the Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust.
