It proposes a 1% average rates increase for 2015/16 with an average 2.6% increase per annum over the 10-year life of the plan. (Note that the impact on each property will vary because of valuation changes)

Key issues for consultation this year are:

• The proposed rating model for the Queenstown Convention Centre
• The timing of construction for the new Wanaka Pool
• Addressing transport issues
• A possible new library hub in Frankton
• A standardised rate for water and wastewater across the district
