Lake Level Update Monday 9am
- Date:
- May 10, 2010
An initial clean-up got underway on Saturday, which has involved moving sandbags from throughout the CBD to two sand bag stations.
As anticipated the lake is slow to recede dropping today to 311.002m as of 8am. That means the lake has dropped almost 48cm since it peaked 9-days ago but still has another 20cm to drop before dipping below the first flood warning level.
That level is likely to be reached later in the week (possibly Thursday) and we hope the clean-up can take place in earnest. This will continue to be subject to modelling any forecast rain events (rain is forecast again for later in the week).
Until then, the lake is still high and both the ORC and QLDC will continue to be in a state of preparedness. We will continue to keep you advised.
