Tree Assessment - St Omer Park

- Date:
- Feb 7, 2014
Two reports by a consultant arborist have been received regarding trees in St Omer Park, Queenstown.
The main report recommends that four Lombardy poplars should be removed and a programme to manage the rest be implemented. Detailed inspection has determined that although all the trees appear to be in good health, virtually all of them are experiencing a degree of internal decay. A management programme for the remaining trees would involve annual inspections, staged removal of the 21 Lombardy poplars and replanting over time with more robust and longer-lasting species.
The report on the single tree which fell has been referred to the Council’s insurance company.
