An upgrade of Malaghans Road is scheduled to begin on Monday 30 January.

The work will include pavement rehabilitation and curve realignment on a section of road with a history of crashes. Road widening for a cycle lane will also take place.

Queenstown Lakes District Council project manager Steve Hewland said delays to motorists during the $1.5 million dollar project would be kept to a minimum.

“There are no detours planned and motorists can expect only occasional short delays,” he said. “However people should leave home a few minutes early just in case.”

The work is expected to finish at the end of April.
