Feral goats are once again causing damage to private property and creating traffic hazards around Queenstown. Our Parks & Reserves team is employing professional contractors to carry out a goat control operation in local reserves over the next month, beginning next week.

Public walking tracks in the reserves affected will be closed with signage and personnel in place. Contractors will be clearly identified.

The following areas will be targeted:

  • Matakauri Park (Gorge Rd)
  • Above Boydtown (Huff St & Fryer St)
  • Above Greenstone & Scott Place (Fernhill).

Local residents have received letters.
