Wanaka Water Shut-down on Thursday night

Date:
Mar 29, 2016

This Thursday night (31 March), Veolia will be installing a new mater main at the end of Ballantyne Road, and will be turning off the water to properties in a large part of Wanaka for several hours overnight while this work is underway. The area is shown in the map below.

The work is due to begin at 10pm on Thursday night and last until around 2am on Friday morning, so residents in the area shown on the map may wish to fill kettles, water bottles etc earlier on Thursday evening.

Veolia will flush the system when they restore the supply but it’s possible you will notice some brief discolouration in your water on Friday morning. This should clear quickly if you run your taps for a few moments. However, Veolia recommends that residents in the area delay doing the laundry for 24 hours to avoid the risk of discoloured water affecting the washing.

There will be another similar water shut-down at the end of April when the new Three Parks water main is connected to the Wanaka network.
