Capital Raising Workshop to be held in Queenstown

A fully funded workshop specifically designed for business professionals involved in raising capital for their clients will be held in Queenstown next month.

Delivered by David Caselli of I Grow New Zealand Limited, with support from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), this interactive workshop will provide a forum where business people can explore regional business activity and the local capital raising opportunities.

The November 14 workshop is being hosted by the Queenstown Lakes District Council and Queenstown Chamber of Commerce in association with the Economic Development Association of New Zealand (EDANZ).

The workshop will cover:

  • An overview of the Capital Raising Market in Dunedin, Central Otago and Queenstown Lakes Districts.
  • The investment process & the role of banks in capital raising, including:
  • what investors are looking for, &
  • changes arising from the Securities Amendment Act 2004.
  • Capital raising activity in this region - & what can be done about the issues
  • Succession Planning
  • managing business ownership change or loss of a key businesses within your region.
  • Opportunities to raise capital from both private & public sources
  • an overview of the Escalator service (NZTE?s investment and equity capital raising programme for up to $5 million), Angel Investment & VCapital Ltd.
  • an overview of other government-funded assistance programmes available to support business development within your region .

Queenstown Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Nick Lambert welcomed the opportunity to work with EDANZ and the council in presenting the workshop.

"This workshop aims to enhance understanding of capital raising activity primarily within our region, as well as updating business people on the range of intervention programmes available to assist business clients," he said.

The workshop will be held in the Queenstown Lakes District Council Chambers, 10 Gorge Rd, Queenstown, from 10am to 2pm, on Monday, November 14.
