Strong Interest in Council Community Plan

The 2006 Queenstown Lakes District Council Community Plan CCP was receiving strong interest with submissions already beginning to pour in QLDC finance manager Stewart Burns said.
We have sent out 22000 copies of the CCP summary over 150 CCP CDs more than 100 sets of the 4 volume plan and embarked on a local radio campaign in Wanaka and Queenstown Mr Burns said.
The Council Community Plan the summary and the submission form were all also available on the Council website.
We have made a big effort to get this CCP into every household and to every ratepayer At this stage we have already received in excess of 60 submissions which signals strong interest Mr Burns said.
The hot topic appeared to be kerbside recycling in the Wakatipu.
We are receiving some really well constructed and thoughtful submissions which is great he said.
The Council encouraged residents and ratepayers alike to take the time to find out about the plan and make a submission.
Submissions would close on June 6 with the hearing of submissions scheduled to take place on June 15.
