Arrowtown Riverside Landscaping Plans

Date:
Jun 28, 2006

The Council is seeking public input on a set of riverside landscaping plans for the Arrow River, Queenstown Lakes District Council parks manager Gordon Bailey said.

The plans could be viewed at the Arrowtown Library or on the information board at Buckingham Street.

Any comment is very welcome, Mr Bailey said.

The plans covered an area from Butler Green through to Nairn Street on the Arrowtown side of the Arrow River.

It incorporates car parking areas, skate park open spaces and various walking tracks, Mr Bailey said.

The plan also better defined pedestrian areas from vehicle areas.

It includes an option to include Butler Green solely as a recreational area, or use the river end for parking and through traffic, Mr Bailey said.

The plans were open for comment until July 14, 2006.  All comments can be either sent to the Council or emailed to services@qldc.govt.nz.

For further information please contact Gordon Bailey 03 441 0499.
