- Date:
- Aug 12, 2013
The Queenstown Lakes District Council will be asked to offer ‘support in principle’ for a capital contribution to a proposed new facility and relocation of the rugby ground at Jacks Reid Park, as proposed by the Arrowtown Community and Sports Centre Incorporated, QLDC general manager operations Ruth Stokes said.
The matter is set down as an agenda item at tomorrow’s Council meeting, commencing 9.30am.
“Council will be asked to set up a working party including Mayor Van Uden and Arrowtown Councillor Lex Perkins to identify a preferred option for funding and develop a partnership agreement with the Arrowtown group,” Ms Stokes said.
Meanwhile the Council will also be asked to approve the Arrowtown-Lake Hayes Reserve Management Plan. The plan was subject to public consultation and a hearing. The plan includes the future development of Jack Reid Park, provision of additional freedom camping, development of equestrian facilities at Whitechapel Reserve, better management of boat storage at Lake Hayes and the naming of reserve, namely Millbrook Park and Alma Stevenson Park.
